Web design & SEO agency for UK businesses

Websites builtwith intent,found onpurpose.

Ghill Partners & Co. designs and builds fast, custom-coded websites for businesses across the UK, and provides the SEO that helps the right customers find them.

01 — The practice

Your website is often where a client first decides whether to trust you. We treat it with the seriousness that decision deserves.

Design and search, planned together

Many businesses buy a website from one supplier and search engine optimisation from another, then wonder why the two pull in different directions. We provide web design and development and SEO together, planned from the first conversation, so structure, content, performance and design all work towards the same goal: more of the right enquiries.

Built properly, not assembled

We design each website around your customers and custom-code it on modern, maintainable foundations: semantic code, fast pages, accessible interfaces and clean metadata. That is the groundwork search engines and people both reward.

How ownership & support work

03 — Approach

A clear process, from first conversation to launch.

Good websites come from good decisions made in the right order. Each engagement follows the same considered sequence, with you involved at every stage that matters.

  1. Step 1: Consultation

We learn about your business, your customers and your goals, and review your current website and search presence.

  2. Step 2: Proposal

You receive a written scope, timeline and quotation, so you know exactly what is included before you commit to anything.

  3. Step 3: Design & build

Designs are reviewed with you at defined stages, then custom-coded, tested on real devices and refined until they are right.

  4. Step 4: Launch & beyond

A careful, well-checked launch, followed by ongoing SEO, hosting and maintenance if you would like us to stay involved.

05 — Standards

The principles we work to.

Performance as a requirement
We keep pages lean and check their speed, including Google’s Core Web Vitals, before launch, because slow pages lose visitors.
Accessible by design
We build with accessibility in mind, following WCAG 2.2 guidance, so your website works for more visitors, on more devices and with assistive technology.
Honest SEO
No guaranteed rankings and no shortcuts that put your site at risk. Just sound technical work, genuinely useful content and transparent reporting.
Clear terms, yours to keep
Written proposals and plain-English explanations. Once paid for, the website we build is yours, subject to your contract, with no obligation to use our hosting.

06 — Questions

Before you ask.

A few of the questions businesses most often have before starting a website or SEO project.

Do you work with businesses across the UK?

Yes. We work with businesses throughout the United Kingdom. Consultations, design reviews and progress updates take place by video call and email, so where you are based does not limit what we can do together.

How much does a new website cost?

Every website is quoted individually, so we do not publish fixed prices. Cost depends mainly on the number of distinct page designs, the functionality you need, how much content is involved and your timescale. After an initial conversation we provide a written proposal with a clear, itemised quotation.

Do I own my website?

Yes. Once your project has been paid in full, you own the bespoke design and custom code we create for you, subject to the terms of your contract. Third-party elements, such as licensed fonts, photography or software, remain covered by their own licences, and any pre-existing tools or components we reuse are licensed to you rather than transferred. You never have to host with us to keep your website.

Do I have to use your hosting and maintenance?

No. Hosting and maintenance are optional. If you would like us to look after your website after launch, what is included is set out in the support plan we agree together. You are equally free to host the website yourself or with another provider, and we will help with a clean handover.

Can you guarantee first-page rankings on Google?

No, and you should be cautious of anyone who does. Google decides its own rankings, and they depend on factors no agency controls, including competitors and changes to Google itself. What we can do is remove technical barriers, improve the relevance and quality of your pages, and report honestly on what is changing.

Can you improve the SEO of a website you did not build?

Yes. We can review and improve an existing website, or plan SEO into a new build from the start, which is usually the most effective approach.

Why do you show concept websites rather than client work?

Rather than presenting invented case studies, we have designed original, interactive homepage concepts for fictional businesses, which you can explore on our Concepts page. Each one is clearly labelled as a concept, not client work.
